3 years ago my husband Jesse and I, along with our 6 year old son brady, moved from Omaha to Sioux City to help develop and operate my husband's family business, "The MlrTym (Miller Time)) Complex" as we like to call it. It all started over 5 years ago along the Riverfront with the rebuilding of the boat marina, MlrTym Landing on the River. The following year Jolly Roger's bar and grill was built on the pier next to the marina. After Jolly's was developed, construction was under way for the resturant, Bev's on the River, which opened it's doors about 1 year later. It wan't long before the trucks rolled back in and the dust started flying again with the hotel development next to Bev's. Finally this summer '08, we celebrated the grand opening of the Hilton Garden Inn. It has been quit an adventure and still is. The construction trucks have now moved out and we have let the dust settle........... for now!
As for me, I have been able to take some time to do a little voluteering at my son's school and throughout the community since we ventured to Sioux City. I am also a past president of Siouxland Friends & Neighbors, which was a wonderful learning experience and a great way for me to meet people in Siouxland and form new friendships. Before we moved to Siouxland I worked for 5 years at a spa in Omaha as an Esthetician. This past summer I was offered a wonderful opportunity to work with a great group of doctors, nurses and a fellow Esthetican at Ave' Medical Laser Spa on Historic 4th Street, where I currently am now doing what I love.
