2009/2010 Siouxland Friends & Neighbors (SFN)
Interest Group Leaders
Bunko – Angie Klemme
Mother’s Group/Playgroup – Corina Anema
Greeting Card Group – Susie Ludwing
I’m so happy to be a part of Siouxland Friends and Neighbors. My determining factor to relocate to Sioux City, Iowa from LaBaule, France in February, 2009 was the wonderful opportunity to participate in this organization’s different groups and fulfill my high social needs and meet new people. My husband, Rick, is employed by Cargill and relocation comes with his career. We love to entertain, and look forward to meeting new couples in the area and why I volunteered to be the Group Leader for TGIF.
Prior to our international move, I was a Close To My Heart Stamping Consultant for four years. My talents are teaching different techniques in cardmaking and other stamping projects. I no longer sell stamping products, however; have a large stamping supply collection I’ve accumulated over the past 10 years. I prefer not to stamp alone and suggested leading a new Greeting Card Group that will meet at our home every month and make three cards at a supply cost of $1.00 each. Class size is limited to 15 people. Depending upon interest, I am willing to offer a morning, afternoon and/or evening classes. I will also offer a couple of Saturday stamping workshops during the year.
My husband and I have been married for 26 years and have three children. Our oldest, Joshua is 31 years old and just got married in August and lives in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Our other son, Jared, is 24 years old and lives in Duluth, Minnesota. Our daughter, Jenna, is 23 years old and just relocated to Boulder, Colorado.
If you have any questions regarding TGIF or the Greeting Card Group, please call me at 712 560-2283.
Bridge Group – Judy Dunbar & Pam Pottebaum
Coffee Group – Judy Dunbar
We moved to Siouxland in 2005. We had retired to our hometown in Minnesota when our children (we have two) decided we needed to be closer to them. We chose Dakota Dunes because it is half way between them. Our son, his wife and three children live in Dell Rapids, S.D. and our daughter, her husband and three children live in Omaha. Before moving here I found Siouxland Friends & Neighbors on the internet and that gave me a clue that it was an open and welcoming area. I joined before we even got here and it has fulfilled all my expectations. Not to mention how wonderful it is to be near family.
Lunch Bunch – Laura Vaughn
Evening Book Club – Leslie Werden
Leslie works at Morningside College in the English department, which is her excuse for having to read and watch movies so much. She’s been watching mostly kids’ movies for the past several years with her three boys (Walter, Owen, and Eli) and is looking forward to coordinating some grown up events with the book and movie group.
Scrapbooking – Carol Jacobson
Carol has been a Creative Memories Consultant for 11 years. She has several albums completed and numerous ongoing albums. Carol and her husband, Dave, have three children(Paul, Philip and Nicole) All three are very active in sports and school activities, so Carol takes a great deal of pictures. She has a Master’s in Education from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and she is a substitute teacher in South Sioux City, NE. This allows Carol the flexibility to hold Scrapbooking Workshops/Crops and also be available at home, if need be. She is looking forward to meeting new Scrapbooking clients and also developing new friendships.
Helping Hands – Missy Hughes
TGIF – Susie Ludwig
Daytime Book Club – Andrea Martin
Gourmet Group - Lila Plambeck & Kristi Walz
Kristi has been co-chair of Gourmet for 3 years now. She has always loved cooking and baking, so deciding to help with Gourmet Club was an easy one. She enjoys trying new and different things, which she hopes is reflected in the menus she creates. Kristi is married to Keith, and has one child Justin. She works as a Family Practice Doctor at the Siouxland Community Health Center.
